van Sluis Consulting is a start-up company formed to provide personalized attention where larger companies may not able to offer these services. Background and Professional Knowledge

Director of Professional Services

  • Managed a team of seven Support Engineers and Developers, plus external consultants.
  • Specialized in Stellent/Oracle UCM/WCM/IPM, FileNet/IBM P8, IS and Kofax Capture
  • Project Managed multiple parallel projects, ranging from several weeks to many months.
  • Architect, design, develop, test and deliver image management, content management, business process management and scanning solutions. This includes taxonomy and metadata designs.
  • Responsible for demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and Statements of Work.
  • Customers included many California state and local government agencies, banking and insurance, high-tech, and a nuclear power plant.

    Sr. Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales)

  • Member of a SWAT team, deployed when complex issues needed resolving, such as internationalizations, enterprise wide installations, and portal integrations.
  • Developed initial integrations with Sybase, Oracle, Epicentric and Sun portal servers.
  • Contributed to rollout of new products at beta customer sites.
  • Presented at customer sites, seminars and trade shows.
  • Created demonstrations and Proof-of-Concepts.

    Worldwide Program Manager, IT Manager

  • Managed enterprise wide Image and Content Management solutions. Defined and recommend strategic direction and products. Interfaced with all major programs groups.
  • Directed a team of 5 developers (one in Europe) as well as long-term contractors.
  • Drove rollout and support of solutions worldwide ( 3 Geographic teams with 30 regional and national teams; planned the tactical and operational rollout).

    IT Specialist, IT Engineer, Project Manager

  • Coordinated all Order Fulfillment Customer Documentation to be printed, routed and archived in Asia Pacific, Japan, Canada and Latin America.
  • Early adopter of web technologies and browser access to back-end systems.
  • Developer for Worldwide Sales Literature Distribution Center.
  • Developer for Worldwide product file applications, Microfiche distribution.
  • Project lead rolling out sales and marketing tools to all of Asia Pacific and Japan.
  • Team Lead for all locally developed applications in Dutch IT Department.
  • Developed and rolled out Customer Response Data Base to all European countries.

    Other Experiences Include

  • Designed, wrote and implemented the Oil Calculating and Documentation System at the British Petroleum Refinery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
  • Worked as a developer at Netherlands' largest bank (RABO Bank); implemented their laser printer subsystems and specialized in OCR technologies.
  • Maintained code for Europe’s largest ferry boat company (in Sweden).
  • Designed and implemented small business solutions as a Senior Consultant for a Hewlett-Packard OEM dealer.
